Most NFL Training Camps have already begun, or are about to get under way. There have been many interesting things to happen this offseason leading to some interesting storylines heading into training camps. So with that in mind, here are a list of five things to watch for at NFL training camps.
5. Darrelle Revis Contract
After all the offseason moves, the football world has proclaimed the Jets as a top Super Bowl Contender. Darrelle Revis , the top player on the Jets D and one of the top corners in the league has expressed unhappiness with his contract and wants a new deal. The Jets have been unwilling to give Revis a new deal since he has three years left on his current one. If Revis becomes too unhappy it could seriously hamper the Jets’ Super Bowl chances.
4. Ben Roethlisberger
Everyone is well aware of Big Ben’s incident in Georgia this year and if you aren’t, listen to the verse in Eminem’s “Despicable.” If Big Ben can handle all the media attention he has at camp, the Steelers will be just fine. If he lets it get to his head, it will lead to some problems in the Steel City.
3. Albert Haynesworth
Last offseason the Redskins gave Haynesworth a contract that guaranteed him $41 million. Last season he didn’t perform up to that contract and expressed displasure after the team planned to switch to a 3-4 defense this season. He skipped all OTA’s during the offseason and has already failed two conditioning tests. What’s next for Albert?
2. Terrell Owens in Cincinnati
Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco in Cincinnati. The pair right there gets the vote for team whose receivers have the biggest egos. T.O. is clearly working on one of his last seasons in the league, and how he and Chad do this year could decide whether or not it’s his swan song.
1. The Brett Favre Watch
Yes its cliché and we do this every year, but it has to be number one. We all know he will play this year and it will be a major upset if he doesn’t. Everyone in America is just waiting for Brett to fly in on Zygi Wilf’s private jet and join the Vikings for their first game.
