It is 7:25 am on a Wednesday and my Blackberry Bold awakens me to Welcome to Paradise, by Green Day via BBSmart Alarms . I obviously press the snooze button 3 times until its 7:40 am and I know I have reached my 3-snooze quota for the day. I unlock my Berry by typing in the encrypted password that I now have in place to protect from my girl looking through the phone while I sleep. Until I put the password in place I slept one eye open and always on my Berry. I quickly check out my BBM messages that I received throughout the night, respond to one or two, ignore the rest until I can actually see what it is that I am typing after I shower. Then I proceed to quickly do a run through my e-mail box to see if there is anything of dire importance to respond to. Since I am too tired to type and it is hard to see the keys through the crust that is still in my eyes, I activate the Vlingo app and speak into the phone for my responses while it proceeds to type what I say. Before I go into the shower, I leave my Berry on the charger for one last energy boost in preparation of the big day he has of ahead of him.
Prior to getting dressed I must launch BerryWeather so I am properly attired for the day. I scroll through the images of my shirt and tie combinations that are my favorites in the media section of my phone and I pick the one that best suits my mood for the day. Yes, I take pictures of my favorite shirt and tie combinations, and choose them through scrolling through my photo folder.
After I “Suit Up”, it is time to hit the road and grab a taxi because I am already running late to work due to my extensive snooze pushing habits. Now sitting in the taxi, I am wishing there was an application that released Air Freshener (note to self: call my app developer after work and start creating a mock up) but I hear a familiar song on the radio. It is catchy, and I know I have heard it before but I can’t quite put my finger on the name. With my Blackberry still in hand I open the Shazam app, hold the phone up to the glass opening that separates the driver, named Butt Thanaganauala, and myself and after 20 seconds I have the title and the artist (Crystal Baller, Third Eye Blind). Naturally, I follow up with this new information by opening up UberTwitter and tweeting to my followers “good morning all, listening to throwback jam Crystal Baller, by Third Eye Blind.” This tweet also indicates my exact location with a link that if clicked on, my friends can see on a map – at that point it was somewhere between 5th and Madison on 34th street. Now it was time to get my ass into the office and get down to business. I look through my calendar and my tasks for the day on my trusty Berry and I make a mental schedule and begin to get pumped for the day ahead. For the rest of the ride to my office, I sit back, play BrickBreaker and wait for my arrival. After I pay the $10 Taxi charge I enter the price into JabpLite, which manages my day-to-day expenses.
I arrive at the office and immediately open up Whippoh and throw my arm into a whipping manner at the new intern and as my Blackberry Bold makes the Whiplash noise, I then tell the intern to get to work and grab me an iced coffee with skim milk, 2 sugars. Bolds have chargers, I have Iced Coffee. I sit down at my desk and I throw on Pandora and listen to one of my customized radio channels. Today it is going to be my 90′s rock channel because the taxi ride in the morning got me in that nostalgic mood. As I am drinking my coffee and settling into my day I get a phone call, a friend of mine gives me a tip and says that I need to check out this stock ISRG. I hang up and eager to check out the market anyways I quickly launch the E-Trade Mobile Pro app to take a quick look through my portfolio. I see some room for diversification so I purchase 100 shares of ISRG right there in the app.
Work, work, work. Around 11:30 am I get a text from my friend to meet him at this cafe for lunch at 1 pm on 31st and 9th. I don’t have time for a sense of direction so I quickly plug the address into Google Maps and just follow the directions until I arrive at my destination. At the end of lunch I launch EasyTip to calculate the proper tip for the waiter.
Back to the office and this day is flying by; after a little movin’ and shakin’ it’s already 6 pm. I decide to walk it home today because it’s nice out I want to blow off some steam after a long day of hustling in the NYC business world. I pass a wine and liquor store on my way home, check with Wine of the Day for a nice recommendation, then purchase, track my expense, and keep moving. I send a BBM message to my girl asking her what she is thinking for dinner, she responds swiftly by telling my to check Zagat. After dinner we head back to the apartment, I pull up my ESPN app to check the scores of the games that I missed during dinner. I am exhausted and need to get sleep so I can wake in the morning and continue on my path to become a Master of the Universe. I throw on my alarm to wake me up in the morning, and we all hit the bed, my girls hits one pillow, I hit the next one, and my Blackberry Bold snuggles right into the middle. Good Night.
