BREAKING NEWS: Joe Paterno Fired As Penn State Head Coach

After six decades of being the heart and soul of Penn State Football, Joe Paterno has officially been fired as head coach. A board of trustees meeting was held late Wednesday night in which the conclusion was made to remove JoePa from the program immediately in wake of a former assistant coach’s child sex scandal. Paterno made a public statement Wednesday which included, “I am absolutely devastated by the developments in this case. I grieve for the children and their families, and I pray for their comfort and relief,” “This is a tragedy, it is one of the great sorrows of my life. With the benefit of hindsight, I wish I had done more.” This is a sad day for college football with one of the greatest coaches and leaders forced out of his job due to someone else’s mistakes.
