Replacing Michael Scott: Who Will Take the Top Job on “The Office”

no thumb

Michael Scott’s exit from “The Office” on Thursday was hard, really hard. That’s what she said. Sadly, Steve Carell’s final episode aired Thursday and there will be no more Michael Scott as the boss of Dunder Mifflin, no more Ping impressions, no conference room pep talks and awkward call-outs, or “that’s what she said” jokes. He really was the world’s best boss (even if he did buy the mug himself).

The 5 Worst Reality TV Couples…Ever.

no thumb

Reality TV has given us something we were never privy to before, watching real people’s relationships develop, unfold, and unravel from the comfort of our living room couch. Scripted television and soap operas are what we had to look forward to and rely on when it came to snooping on people’s relationships and judging them. But now with reality TV being bigger than ever and more people trying to get their 15 minutes of fame, on-screen and real-life romances are fusing together. Audiences are watching real people break-up and hook-up, and we can’t get enough. Even if they are the worst couple on TV, it’s hard to change the channel.

So who are some of the worst reality TV couples of all-time? The ones who made you yell at your TV for them to break-up already and move on. Here’s five of the worst couples who I couldn’t help watching each week.

Open Season at Penn State: Day Long Parties Commence! (Video)

penn-state-party

This weekend was fucking beautiful, and you know what that means? Schools that are normally cursed with the cold of winter (not you Southerners, damn you) become havens for skirts, barbeques, and excessive outdoor celebration. Of course, the epic partiers of Penn State are the poster children for this craziness. Our friends from The School Philly have compiled a video of some of the outrageous day long shindigs that took place over the weekend. Looks like those PSU kids really know how to rage…not sure how I feel about all the goldfish eating I see going on though. I don’t think live goldfish make you any more drunk than you already are my friends. Sorry to ruin it for you. Check out the video after the jump.

Cheap and Easy Party Punch Recipes

It can be tedious drinking the same thing all the time. Sure, I like vodka, but I don’t want to drink it everyday. And in college, chances are that you are drinking everyday (possibly even in the morning). Or very close to that amount – especially if you are in your last stretch of senior year.

But the problem is, you are on a budget. So what do you do when you can’t afford to buy your favorite flavored liquor? Or when you find yourself buying a Hurricane or two in the bottle shop again, because you couldn’t afford to go to the bar?

The answer is to make something that will last, has a lot of alcohol, and is also cheap. Now, I’m not condoning drinking 5 Four Lokos or making do-it-yourself-Moonshine, but a little jungle juice never hurt anyone (too bad).

Better Off: 7 American Idol Cast-Offs Who Were Successful Anyway

no thumb

american idol

Typically “American Idol” results shows that air on Thursday nights are all the same: dramatically long with awkward pre-made videos and group performances. All of it stupid enough that I wished I hadn’t wasted my time in the first place. But this past Thursday, I was actually surprised and upset by the elimination of Pia Toscano, the young singer many people picked as their favorite to win the whole season. The crowd booed and Twitter tweeted with people’s outrage over her early exit, but I couldn’t help but think maybe it was good for her. If you are that talented, maybe not being the next American Idol isn’t such a bad thing.

World’s Best Boss: Michael Scott’s Funniest “The Office” Moments

no thumb

michael scott on the office

NBC’s hit show “The Office” has become one of the best half hours of comedy on TV. Currently in it’s seventh season on air, the show takes place in Scranton, PA at The Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Filmed documentary-style, the audience is given an inside look at the employees of the office. From sex in the warehouse, to vodka-filled Christmas parties, the Dunder Mifflin employees know how to have a good time in the workplace. But most of the fun and games are directly because of their lenient and attention-craving boss, Michael Scott. The boss who will be leaving them soon.

The Death of Jersey Shore?

Most episodes start out with the gang talking about their escapades from last night, then a mini montage happens of them getting dressed, looking at themselves in the mirror and being generally douche-y. Next up, “Cabs are hee-yaa”, and the tanned pack of Jersey beasts head into their feeding ground, Karma. The Jersey Shore isn’t scripted, but after three seasons, the same predictable plot lines, and the ability of the characters to do the same thing everyday: it very well could be.

Chick flicks have gotten a bad wrap over the years. Your boyfriend won’t watch them with you, your sister is too cool for them, and your roommate has too many boy problems to get through one without crying for hours. Chick flicks are meant to be watched during a night in with your girlfriends, a night complete with your chosen chick flick, gossip, sex talk, and white cheddar popcorn.

Things You Can Make Green This St. Patty’s Day

no thumb

In college it doesn’t matter if you’re Irish or not: You are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. It’s an excuse to wake up at the crack of dawn, blast that song from “The Departed,” and drink way too much alcohol all in the name of your ancestors. They would be so proud.

St. Patrick’s Day this year is on Thursday, the 17th, so you have the next few days to prepare for your party, your pregame, or your afterparty now. I’ve put together some fun recipes and tips to make your St. Patty’s full of booze and all things green.

Easy Recipes That Aren’t Terrible For You Either

It’s easy to pack on the pounds in college when you’re drinking beer every weekend and getting greasy food a few nights a week after the bar. There aren’t many options besides subs, pizza, and buffalo chicken everywhere you look, so eating right can be tough.

I’ve put together a small collection of recipes that are easy to make and pretty healthy. They also won’t break your budget as they don’t call for too many ingredients. If you’re trying to impress your girlfriend or just want to cook a nice meal for your roommates, give one of these a try.
