Some men in Hollywood just can’t seem to keep it in their pants. I get it. the temptation must be out of this world when you have a ton of money, women throwing themselves at you, and no conscience. But this could all be easily remedied if these men didn’t commit to being a spouse or a boyfriend, and just accepted the title of womanizer instead. Not only did these womanizers cheat, they also apparently couldn’t use protection. Nine months later, that little tryst with a model or one-night stand might not have been worth it for what it’s costing your reputation and bank account. Here’s a look at some men who fathered children who —whoops! — definitely weren’t planned.
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Former California governor and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger is probably happy he won’t be running for office anytime soon. Just last week, Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver released a statement saying they were splitting after 25 years of marriage. But the reason for the split came out yesterday when Schwarzenegger admitted to fathering a love child with a member of his household staff about 14 years ago. Schwarzenegger and his estranged wife are planning to divorce. They have four children together.
John Edwards
Former senator and presidential hopeful, John Edwards admitted to having a secret love child with his campaign aide, Rielle Hunter. After denying he was the father for some time, Edwards confessed the child was his and that he had been visiting her for the past year. News of his infidelity and secret child became tabloid fodder and Edwards’ reputation took a hit. His former wife, Elizabeth Edwards, battled cancer during his indiscretions and has since passed.
Eddie Murphy
Eddie Murphy dated former Spice Girl, Mel B., shortly after his divorce and was hit with some unexpected news—she was pregnant and it was his. Murphy didn’t acknowledge he was father, telling the press that they shouldn’t “jump to conclusions” and they should wait for results of a paternity test. When the child was born, a paternity test confirmed that Murphy was the father. He has not attempted to have a relationship with the child.
Eric Clapton
Eric Clapton had not one, but two babies outside of his marriage. Clapton had a year-long affair with Yvonne Kelly, which resulted in the birth of their child Ruth. She was born in 1985, but Clapton and Kelly kept her a secret until 1991. Clapton’s second indiscretion while married to Patti Boyd was with model, Lory Del Santo. The two had baby Conor together in 1986 but he tragically died after falling from the 53rd story of a New York City Building. The song “Tears in Heaven” was written for Conor.
Steven Tyler
Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith, has a reputation for partying all-night and indulging in the rock n’ roll lifestyle. He even convinced a 14-year-old girl’s parents to let her live with him when he was 27 and heavily involved in drugs and alcohol. But they broke up after three years, and he met model Bebe Buell. Tyler and Buell had a child together, Liv, who was initially thought to be Todd Rungdren’s daughter as he was listed as her dad on her birth certificate. Buell tried to hide the fact that Liv was Tyler’s baby because of his addiction problems. It wasn’t until Liv was nine years old and saw Tyler’s daughter Mia, that she found out who her real father was.
Gavin Rossdale
Gavin Rossdale may be Gwen Stefani’s husband of almost 10 years, but he has a secret past too. The English rocker had a one-night stand with Pearl Lowe in the late 1980s that resulted in a child, Daisy. It was thought that Daisy’s father was Lowe’s ex-husband Bronner Lowe, but a paternity test in 2004 showed that Rossdale was Daisy’s biological father. Their relationship is said to be strained, but photos of Daisy and Rossdale and Stefani’s son, Kingston, walking in London were published on the Internet in 2009.
Michael Lohan
Michael Lohan is many things: a dead-beat dad, a fame-whore, and an ex-con. Now you can add another unflattering term to the list — baby daddy to secret child. While Lohan was married to now ex-wife, Dina, he had an affair with a woman named Kristi Kaufmann. Kaufmann had a child from the affair, who is now 15-years-old, and got in touch with Lohan years later telling him of his daughter. Lohan apparently wrote her from jail and is now in contact with his estranged daughter.
Jude Law
Jude Law isn’t exactly the best boyfriend. In 2005, in a statement released to the papers, Law confirmed that he cheated on then-fiancée Sienna Miller with his children’s nanny. Law and Miller then broke their engagement and went their separate ways. Four years later in 2009, Law had a brief relationship with a model, Samantha Burke, which ended with a pregnant Burke. After it was confirmed that the child, a baby girl named Sophia, was Law’s, he accepted responsibility and is now paying child support. He was not present at the birth, met her for the first time at five months old, and as of now isn’t much involved in the child’s life. Law has three other children with his ex-wife, Sadie Frost.
