Electronic Arts has announced that they are bringing their most famous and successful sports game franchise, Madden, to Facebook. As I am sure all of you have seen, Facebook gaming is becoming rampantly popular. I know this because everyday I get a Farmville, Scrabble, or Mafia Wars game invite. But Madden has potential to take Facebook gaming to the next level.
Any Madden veteran knows the most fun part of playing is not only beating your friend, but humiliating them while doing it. What better way to let people know that you just shut out your boy Joey in a big Madden Match Up, then telling all your friends about it on your news feed. Being that my trash talking game has always stayed fresh, and my Madden game is tight, I say bring it on.
EA has released very limited information on the upcoming game, other then that it will be a very limited version compared to the complex Madden’s that we are used to on XBOX and PlayStation. Think of this Madden more like a Madden Wii or Madden for Kids. But nonetheless the core concept of throwing a bomb touchdown over your friends head with the game online and a slap bet wagered still remains.
