Gus Johnson taking his talents to FOX

Recently let go from his CBS post, where he was a mainstay in the NCAA tournament, broadcaster Gus Johnson has just signed a contract to call NFL Football and Pac-12 College Football games for Fox Sports.  Johnson joined CBS in 1995 as a college basketball announcer.  During his time at CBS, Johnson also covered boxing and the Olympics.  In October, Gus was fired from his radio broadcasting gig with the New York Knicks, leaving fans enraged.  The extremely talented and boisterous color commentator has always been a fan favorite and his calls of “Purrre” and “Cold-Blooded” will be sorely missed.  Fox Sports last week signed a 12-year deal along with Walt Disney Co.’s ESPN to carry college basketball and college football games from the Pac-10 conference. Johnson will continue calling college basketball for the Big Ten network.
