It’s Sunday morning. Your three roommates and you threw a rager last night. You just woke up to a gruesome sight: Solo cups everywhere, jello shots stuck to the walls, sticky floors, and cans thrown around. The entire room is a giant garbage bag. Do you feel like cleaning it all up? Doubt it.
Since this is such a common situation among college students nationwide, two guys who graduated from the University of Colorado started a little business called Hangover Helpers. They’ll bring you breakfast burritos and Gatorade, and then clean up your house after a party. Why didn’t anybody else think of that?!
Hangover Helpers started when Marc Simons needed extra money last year so he started cleaning other people’s houses. He realized if he started a business, he would have customers. His partner is Alex Vere-Nicoll, a friend of Simons’ from high school.

The two charge $15 per roommate, which when you think about it, is hardly anything because they’re also feeding you breakfast while they act like Cinderella and clean your mess.
Lucky for the University of Colorado in Boulder that they have these guys, right? What about the other schools around the country? I would totally pay somebody $15 to recycle all of the beer cans thrown around after a party. I bet Greek life houses that have tons of parties would really appreciate some help…especially since a lot of Greek houses never look cleaned to begin with…

So far, the business has been slow for Simons and Vere-Nicoll, but they said it’s okay because it’s still a brand new program. They also said Boulder’s prime-time party season is spring semester, so they’re expecting the rush of clean up events to come from that.
When you think about it, it makes sense their business hasn’t taken off yet because they launched it around Thanksgiving, which is at the end of the semester. Maybe they’ll get busy with ugly Christmas sweater parties this month.

I personally think that if, after the spring, their business picks up the way they expect it to, they should go national and recruit a little team of cleaning students at all the universities willing to participate.
Think about it: they could profit a bit from each school, students from different schools will make some money and more importantly, students can throw whatever kinds of parties they want and sleep peacefully knowing they are not going to have to worry about the clean up process.
So if you’re in Colorado and you need a party cleaned up, “who ya gonna call? Hangover Helpers!”
