I Give You Tyler R. Spaulding…The Most Interesting College Student

You have all been a part of that unforgettable party that you tell all your friends about. The one you wait months for, getting more excited as the days pass just so you can be a part of the madness. Parties that have become part of a Campus Socialite’s vocabulary: Mardi Gras, Preakness, Oktoberfest, Little 5 and don’t forget about the always popular holiday parties like Halloween.  Well what if the wait didn’t exist, and those legendary parties just happen to occur every weekend? What if your semester consisted of class during the days then traveling around the country going to the most insane and legendary parties year round, well for one kid this dream is a reality. I have promised it for the past week and here it is, my exclusive interview with Tyler R. Spaulding… get your popcorn ready.

Campus Socialite: So, Tyler, seeing that I am blessed to be in the presence of campus royalty, I’m just gonna dive into this interview head first

Tyler R. Spaulding: Whats up man, thanks for having me, you guys are awesome

CS: What caused you to embark on such a wild mission as party hopping across the country?

TRS: It started on a hungover Sunday morning with a few of my buddies. All of us were trying to piece the night back together and huge party scenes just came up. I always wanted to go to those big parties that every campus has at least once a year, so I figured fuck it, why not just go to them all. It basically evolved from a stupid idea to an actual mission which has been sweet.

CS: What is the most memorable party experience you have had in your college travels?

TRS: Wow, good question. I have been to a ton of memorable parties and had some insane experiences but I got to say one of the most memorable had to be Floatopia at UCSB. Picture a huge beach surrounded by houses on the side of a cliff at 10AM literally packed with college kids getting shitty. Everyone gets rafts and float in the ocean while music is bumping all day long. The scene is just insane, I actually saw one kid fall down the side of the cliff to the beach, brush himself off and then pounded a beer like nothing happened, epic moment. Day parties are the best especially when they’re on a beach. I’m from the East coast so I love going out to Cali and partying, especially with those Cali blondes.

Floatopia

CS: Which of the campuses that you visited had the best bar scene?

TRS: Loyola New Orleans is awesome. I always knew about the Mardi Gras scene, but the bars are wild. Tons of hot chicks, I actually think the the law does not exist down there.  I went to a few bars but the ones I can remember are Friar Tucks and The Raven.

CS: What is the best post-party drunk food you have eaten while on your journey?

TRS: I usually end up munching out at night and knocking down anything I see, which I can say has sadly applied to both food and girls some nights, car bombs are a bad idea. But I have to say the Chicken Ziti Roll at Michigan University is my favorite.  And don’t forget the Ranch dipping sauce, for that matter, never forget the Ranch dipping sauce.  But I could have been biased when I ate that because it was Hash Bash that weekend and you could pretty much figure out the rest.

CS: What is the most unique , or just downright nasty, party theme you have experienced thus far?

TRS: Ha thats great, most theme parties end up being downright nasty. I went to this party once which was called Show Me The Money. Everyone had monopoly money and apparently they thought it was the cure for cancer because people were doing anything and everything for it. I had a great time from what I remember, woke up the next morning in some girl’s house wearing just socks and as surrounded by the fake money. I wish I actually made it rain Monopoly $50′s before I left but I needed to grab a yellow Gatorade to cure the hangover

CS: That’s great, you really are a true veteran, yellow Gatorades are the way to go for a hangover.  Im sure you’ve seen it all, so enlighten us, what is the most innovative drinking aid you have come across?

TRS: I was at Florida and just got out of a Gator football game (The Swamp is amazing, loud as shit) and went to a house party after which was pretty fun. Anyway these guys were looking for a funnel but couldn’t find anything around the house. I went outside to take a piss later that night and saw these dudes funneling jungle juice out of one of those pool noodles, hillarious.

CS: At the risk of sounding like a total dirtbag, I’ll try to clean the following question up: What is the most sexually active college you have been to and please feel free to share any stories?

TRS: I knew this question would come up, it’s all good. I don’t  know what the most sexually active college is, sorry guys, but like everyone knows crazy things go on at all schools, even those mormon schools in Utah. The girls at Tennessee are awesome, all hot southern girls and both times I have been there everyone I was with was down to party hard.  As for a story, I went to a huge tailgate when the Vols were playing Mississippi State. I was playing a few games of pong with some kids I met down there, real cool  guys that were down to get hammered all the time. Anyway there were a few girls down there from Mississippi State who just couldn’t believe that my mission was to find the best party school in the nation. A bet came up about this, I was obviously won, and long story short I ended up hooking up with two of these girls. Best part was part of the bet was that they had to wear a Vols jersey during the entire thing, and the first girl took the jersey off and passed it to the other girl in between sessions. Picture two chicks from Miss State, one topless and one in a Vols jersey and then me with a stupid ass smirk on my face. The rest of the day I just kept laughing at what these girls dads would think not only that their daughters were hooking up before a football game but that they were doing it in an arch rivals jersey, fucking classic. I love Tennessee.

CS: Now for the one responsible question of the interview I need to ask, How do you find time to get any of your work done while out “on tour”

TRS: I have taken a light course load the past year, and always bring work with me while traveling to other schools. You would be amazed how traveling for hours actually forces you to study, I have a library on wheels basically.  Plus, nobody ever said you have to finish college in 4 years right?

CS: What is the one piece of advice you would like to share with fellow partygoers who are looking to make their time in college just as legendary as yours?

TRS: Keep living the dream. You have 4 years or in some cases 5 to be irresponsible, don’t hold back and enjoy the ride. In the words of one of my favorite musicians Tom Petty, “The work never ends but college does.”

CS: Thanks for your time Tyler, you are the epitome of what a Campus Socialite should embody and we are all so grateful to have you spreading the joy of college nationwide

TRS: No problem man. I am always looking for the next best party and if any of you out there think your school can hold its own just shoot me a message on my Facebook profile, Tyler R Spaulding.
