An Inspirational Speech That Puts Students To Sleep: Thanks Obama!

Naps are one of my favorite things in the entire world and since being in college I’ve learned that naps are ok again…in the right situation. I remember freshman year when I fell asleep in one of my communications lectures, I figured ‘hey it’s a lecture hall the teacher will never notice’.  Well apparently I was COMPLETELY wrong and the entire class watched me sleep.

The teacher, who I ended up having several classes with after this class, decided to teach the entire class standing right next to me while I slept.  I was so tired that of course I didn’t wake up at first, but after feeling as if the teacher was literally yelling in my ear I opened my eyes to find her staring at me pretty angrily.

While this was bad and I learned to take those little Starbucks double shots to class with me.  A video hit the internet a few days ago of a kid taking a little cat nap during a commencement. Heck he’s just in the choir he doesn’t ACTUALLY need to be awake….unless the commencement speaker is Barack Obama, President of the United States.

This kid bobbed and weaved his way through one of the greatest moment of his high school career.  You’re from freaking Kalamazoo Michigan… KALAMAZOO I don’t think any good can come from Kalamazoo. Who else can say, oh yeah the President of the United States talked at the commencement of my high school and well I slept.

Personally I have got to hand it to this kid I think he has good technique for nodding off and good self control not to completely freak out when the audience begins to applause.  I think I would have fallen out of my seat.

Here’s the video of this amazing example of when NOT to take a nap.
