Omar Minaya should be arrested, he should be thrown behind bars, he should be fired and he should take some Adderall, because he is falling asleep on the Mets offseason. As a Mets fan I am shocked and appalled by this guy’s actions… better yet, the lack of action.
All I have done for these past couple of months is watch the Philadelphia Sillies trade for Roy Halladay (arguably one the best pitcher in baseball), those tomahawk chopping Braves sign our Billy Wagner and bear witness to those damn Yankees snatching up Curtis Granderson and Javier Vasquez. I have also watched as the Mets stand pat outside of signing just a bunch of scrub minor leaguers. Awesome Omar, way to get a fan base interested in the team after yet another disappointing season. Here is what I would do if I was Omar Minaya…
1. I would start off by giving Mike Piazza a call and seeing if he wants to give that whole catching thing another try.
2. I would then ask Mike for John Olerud’s number to give him and his helmet a call and see if they are ready to man first base this season.
3. Trade back for Aaron Heilman and Armando Benitez, this would single handedly propel with the best 8th and 9th inning pitchers ever.
4. My last move would be to fire myself and Jerry Manuel and hire the voice of the Mets, Gary Cohen as the GM and as Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez to be co managers. Put it in the books… the Mets win!
Please Omar, for your fanbase’s sanity, sabotage your own career, not our beloved Amazin’s.
