Public Displays of Affection

Holding hands: cute, acceptable; a kiss on the cheek or  forehead: bound to make onlookers a little jealous at the sweetness factor; arms wrapped around your waist or across your shoulders: we can all agree- absolutely adorable. These are the couples that make us hope that our 11:11 wish  for the next knock at the door to be a potential boyfriend candidate will be granted.

Unfortunately this is a rather fleeting moment, considering that the couple at the table across the way  seem to have missed the “some things should remain behind closed doors” memo. After being exposed to their full-on make-out plus, (yes, plus) session, you can’t help but feel a little violated and even nauseous as you glanced down at your suddenly not so appealing cup of clam chowder.

Sometimes when the passion strikes, regardless of your location, it can be difficult to practice restraint. However, there is a time and place to express your feelings for one another, and that’s not in the middle of the dining hall, or on the walkway directly outside of your calculus class room. Unless of course, it’s dark and  no one else is around, then entirely different rules apply.

In small doses public displays of affection are sweet and an easy way to let the rest of the world know, hands off ladies, he’s mine.  But, when you have an audience, it’s probably best to keep things from elevating from a G rating to NC-17.

Can’t wait until later? Give him a kiss on the cheek now, and whisper the rest of your thoughts in his ear, or slyly send them in a text message. That should make for a fun evening at home.

What do you guys think? Do you find PDA  acceptable, or should everything just remain private? Leave us a comment, let us know your thoughts on the subject.
