If you’re into award shows as much as I am, then you already know that Ricky Gervais is going to host the Golden Globes for the third time. Tomorrow, Ricky Gervais is probably going to do what he does best: make tons of jokes about the other celebrities in the room, as well as the networks, production companies, and even the bureaucracy behind the award show itself. Basically, Ricky Gervais is just a cool motherfudgeer. Plain and simple. So lets take a look at what he did the past two years, and the awesome things that he said.
The 2010 Golden Globes

Things you need to remember about 2010: NBC was replacing Conan O’Brien with Jay Leno after they spent all that money building Conan his new set, everyone was talking about how much of an alcoholic Mel Gibson was, and actors were still full of themselves. The fact that Gervais attacked the network that was airing the Golden Globes just makes him one of the most awesome people ever.
The 2011 Golden Globes

Okay, 2011 was the year everybody got really pissed at Ricky Gervais. Not only did Ricky Gervais make fun of The Tourist, but he also brought up the rumors that there were major bribes going on. He also continued to make fun of Mel Gibson, made fun of the fact that Charlie Sheen locked a prostitute in a cupboard, and the fact that Hurley from Lost looks like he could eat the rest of the cast.
This Year
There’s so much that could happen this year, that it’s hard to see where he’s going to go with it. Some minor subjects include the Royal Wedding and the Kardashians. He may also touch on the fact that 2011 had the most sequels ever and that it could mark the end of creativity in Hollywood. But when you’ve got a loose cannon like Ricky Gervais getting drunk while standing in front of a bunch of other celebrities getting drunk, you know it’s going to be an awesome night.
