Sneaker of the Week: Nike Air Max LeBron VII All-Star Game Edition

bradwellen@precioustimeny.com

Emblazoned across his back, LeBron James wears a giant tattoo that reads “Chosen 1.”  Although James’s body art holds a more spiritual meaning, as he believes he was destined to dominate the game of basketball, apparently he has also been selected by the NBA fans everywhere to lead the league’s elite talent onto the floor every February for the All-Star game.  Tonight, LBJ will appear in the sixth All-Star game of his seven-year career and, given that he averages 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists per night, it’s no wonder why he was the league’s leading vote getter.  If being the reigning league MVP, and a unanimous All-Star selection wasn’t enough, James is the king of footwear in today’s sporting world.  Need any more proof, check out his Nike LeBron VII All-Star Game Editions, courtesy of Osneaker, below.

LeBron seemingly has released more sneakers through Nike than Octomom has birthed children through her womb.  In all seriousness though, King James has lent his name and designs to dozens of pairs of shoes and, although all of them sell like cigarettes and porn in prison, some are clearly superior to others.  One such example are his LeBron VII All-Star Game Editions, the chosen kicks for the chosen one and the leader of the Cleveland Cavaliers – the club which currently owns the NBA’s best record.  Don’t expect James, a two-time All-Star Game MVP, to let up this evening in Dallas as he will be looking to lead the Eastern Conference to victory before a crowd of 85,000 – the largest to ever attend a basketball game.

Even for the man with enough sneakers to shoe a small country, LeBron has outdone himself with his All-Star Game Editions.  The sneaker’s patented black cross flywire pattern contrasts strongly with the turquoise colored body.  These also offer a touch of class with subtle embedded wood grain pattern detailed in 3M Scotchlite that become visible when light shines across it at a certain angle.  The insole features a finely stitched patch that reads “East 2010 – Dallas, Texas” to commemorate ’Bron’s sixth appearance on what promises to be the grandest stage in All-Star Game history.  February 14 is typically set aside for Valentines, but this year lovers of the NBA will also get their fill of attention as LeBron James and crew will put on a show from Dallas.  You don’t need to be just a witness to his ballerific kicks as Osneaker has the Nike Air Max LeBron VII All-Star Game Edition’s available for purchase for $230.  Grab your pair now.
