Your New Buddy: the Hoodiebuddie

The other day I was walking down the street on my way to class when I saw one of my friends coming out of the bank. She was putting a wire from her jacket pocket in to her iPod but there were no headphones, or at least none that I could see. I say “hi” and make the usual small talk, and then I get around to asking her what she was doing with the wire in her pocket. She told me that she just got this jacket called a Hoodiebuddie. I was still lost as she was explaining, but what I did hear was that the jacket had earphones in the drawstrings.

I thought this was a super cool idea so I decided to look a little more into it and go to the Hoodiebuddie website. I was reading the description and saw the full explanation of how the earphones were in the drawstrings and the jack to connect an MP3 player was in the pocket. I thought about how much of a pain it would be to take out the earphones, wash the jacket, and then put the earphones back in. This is when I scrolled down on the website and I read the words “…the entire Hoodie is machine washable (even the headphones).” I realized that it would be really cool to have one these. This is coming from a person who is constantly losing his earphones and having to buy news ones.

The price is what makes it even better. The average price for a Hoodiebuddie is forty dollars. For that price you get an actual Hoodie with the headphones already installed for you. Most earphones cost around twenty dollars to begin with and the quality of these match those of the earphones you get with your iPod or iPhone. It also comes with extra and different sized ear inserts if the ones that are already included on the jacket do not please you. All of this almost had me sold on getting one, but then I came to the realization that a sweatshirt like this probably didn’t come in any cool patterns. This was not the case.

There are two types of Hoodiebuddies, each with plenty of designs. They range from a plain colored jacket to different kinds of designs like the American flag and the vintage MTV  logo. They even have their own Betty White line. I mean who doesn’t want to wear a portrait of Betty White when it’s cold outside? The two types of Hoodies available are the basic forty-dollar jacket, and for four dollars more, you can get one that has a pocket that you can insert your mp3 player in.

I looked into where I could purchase one and there are three options. You can get them at JCPenney or Journeys. If these two are not an option for you you can order them online and pick from a wider selection. This is a really cool product that will be big within the next year because of its convenience. This is definitely a great investment.
