Campus Socialites, it’s finally the weekend. I don’t know about you, but this week was long as stuff and I am ready to rage. Summer lifestyle is in full swing and this weekend, the bar is being raised. I’ve been getting calls all week from my buddies who road tripped down to Bonnaroo on how sick it is, how many times they tripped face and how many Hippey Chicks are down for threesomes. While tempted to jump in an RV and head to Nashville, I’m kickin it in the hometown this weekend and have some major events lined up. For all my New Yorkers out there this weekend is a huge one, filled with public nudity, delicious bbq and dirty beats….get ya popcorn ready. World Naked Bike Ride (Saturday June 11)
To start the weekend off right, I figured you can’t go wrong with hundreds of naked bike riders. This weekend the laws and clothes are removed and a ride in celebration of the end of Nuclear Energy will be taking place on the Willamsberg Bridge at 5PM. The riders have some slogan about “Riding In Pride,” but lets be honest, I’ll be there, half drunk, checking out some of the go green chicks cruising down the bridge with only a helmet on. Big Apple BBQ (Saturday June 11 & Sunday 12)
The 9th Annual Big Apple BBQ Block Party is the spot to be if you plan on staying in the city throughout the weekend. If you like BBQ (and lets face it who the hell doesn’t?), you need to be at this sausagefest. The event features the top culinary creations from top pit masters around the country. Great food, live music, booze…do I really need to say more? Admission is free so come party with the some meat loving New Yorkers in Madison Square Park from 11AM-6PM. Avicii Hampton Weekend (Saturday June 11)
This is my must attend event of the weekend…true Campus Socialite style. The hottest DJ around ,Avicii, invades the Hampton’s for one weekend and sets up a banger on the famous Dune Road. If you have not been to the Hamptons, it’s time to check it out and party in one of the hottest places on the east coast. You know I will be in my element, fist pumping on the beach all weekend long. Speed Rack (Sunday June 12)
If you’re able to make it back into the city, check out Speed Rack, a willytail making speed competition for female bartenders in NYC. Besides watching hotties pour your favorite concoctions of Jameson and Tanquery, this event gives you the opportunity to get a few more drinks in before the Monday grind starts again. All profits from the event go to Breast Cancer research, so come support the cause and save the boobies with Speed Rack.
Flynn’s Reggae On The Bay (Sunday June 12)
Sleeper spot of the weekend is Fire Island, which is about a twenty minute boat ride from the south shore of Long Island. There is an abundance of beach goers, bars and lack of morals on the island (not to mention there are no cars on the entire island) which makes for a killer time. If you stick around on Sunday at the beach check out Flynn’s which features “Reggae On The Bay” every Sunday throughout the summer. Picture Jersey Shore, minus all the meatheads, with reggae beats….pretty dope time. Jam out with some Long Island locals at Flynn’s Fire Island.
