The days are getting shorter, our favorite TV shows are returning with new episodes and it is getting too cold to wear short skirts and tank tops out to the bars. Sure the semester started weeks ago and labor day was last week but, now the leaves are changing color and you have to grab a sweater before you head to class. Yes thats right, fall is officially here and I love it. The summer humidity that ruins your hair is gone and crisp, slightly chilly, football air has replaced it. While some may be crying over the end of sweet summer, there are some wonderful perks to fall.
1) Pumpkin Ale. My roommates and I went to a beer tasting last weekend. We were introduced to all the seasonal beers, which were all amazing, but the best was pumpkin beer. It was amazing. If you have never tried it before, you NEED to. The woman told us it is only made one time of the year, fall!
2) Football. Football has returned to our lives. There is nothing like going to a sports bar with a few fiends (and if you only have one sports bar on campus like Delaware does, a few friends means the entire senior class) to watch Monday night football. At my school Monday is the day we stay in because there is not much to do, except during the fall!
3) Tailgating. The return of football also means the return of tailgating. I love waking up on a Saturday morning and having beer with your bagel. Then, heading down to the stadium to drink more. We can only do this when we are only in college, we are only in college for four years and we can only tailgate a football game during the fall!
4) Apple Cider Donuts. Honestly, they are the best kind of donut and thats all that needs to be said.
Everyone loves summer and the beach but, do not cry over its end. Embrace the start of fall. Put on your Northface and Uggs. Then head out and enjoy the perks of fall.
