It seems like Sony PlayStation is having the worst luck ever. Earlier this month, hackers used Amazon’s Elastic Computer Cloud (EC2) service to shut the network and the PlayStation websites down for almost a month. Twenty-six days later, PSN is finally running, but there’s another problem. Too many users trying to access the servers and change their passwords, as requested, caused the network to crash. Uh, can’t you get anything right, PSN? SONY tweeted the following: “If you’ve requested your password reset, it’s taking time to clear all of the ISPs, so please give it a bit of time to reach your email.”
In addition to the crash following the 26-day hiatus, PlayStation is also rapidly bleeding customers. Edge Magazine reports a 200 percent increase in on PS3 consoles being traded in for Xbox 360s. Whomp Whomp, says the 360 user. Is this the demise of PlayStation 3 as we know it? Sony as a force in the video game industry? What do you think, Socialites? Is this acceptable?
