I feel like I’m living in a time warp. It was about this time last year when I wrote a newsflash praising Mickey D’s for bringing back the McRib nationwide. The tasty, messy sandwich was regional for 16 years, but then it made a comeback, only to vanish once more…and now it’s back again. I smell a marketing ploy.
Apparently everyone loved when the McRib came back last year, so instead of just keeping it on the menu permanently, they decided to pull it off and wait for another year to pass, thus re-establishing all the excitement that came with it in 2010. Look at my care face.
But for those who DO care, here are the details: the elusive sandwich returns to all McDonald’s nationwide on November 14th. As always, it’ll be topped with onions, pickle slices and barbecue sauce, and will weigh in with a hefty 500 calories and 26 grams of fat (which is actually just shy of the Big Mac’s 526 calories and 29 grams of fat).
If this got you hungry, then definitely go grab a McRib when it returns in 3 weeks. Enjoy that stuff. I’ll be at Taco Bell.
