Are you sick of drinking beer at parties? Well two of this country’s most downed drinks are caffeine beverages, and booze. These two don’t exactly seem like an ideal combo though. However there is a new drink on the market that combines them both. So are you down with the Four Loko?
Four Loko is a beverage that is becoming extremely popular within the college community. Cans have already been spotted in New York and Philly, and college-aged students are partying with the caffeine alcoholic beverages more and more. So if you haven’t noticed them yet, you might start to see them appear at parties near you.
The company offers beverages that come in 23.5 ounce cans, and contain 12 percent alcohol. There are seven different flavors including, lemonade, fruit punch, blue raspberry, and watermelon, so there certainly are options for everyone.
I have only had the lemonade flavor but I can say that it tastes very similar to a Mike’s Hard Lemonade (this makes sense because it is a lemonade flavored beverage). The one thing I would say though is be careful, as some politicians have compared the drink to liquid cocaine. I also ran into trouble sleeping that night after drinking it, but aside from that it was a good experience.
The next time you are at a party though, put down your Natty Light and pick up a few Four Lokos for you and your friends and find out what all this fuss is about.
