After a year on hiatus, Rothbury Festival is back with a new name and more ridiculous acts than ever. What used to be Rothbury is now Electric Forest, a 4 day music festival held in Michigan. So this is to any Michigan socialites out there: how are you celebrating your July 4th?

Yeah we know, we’ve hated on MySpace one or a few times in this space. What’s more fun to make fun of than a once Social Media giant that is now just former Emo kids, white trash, and Snoop Dogg’s most recent album? MySpace owners, the ones that once bought it for $580 Million, looked about ready to fold, but have now sold the company to Specific Media for a sobering $35 Million. Oh, and of course, Justin Timberlake.
Socialites, I have no idea what this movie is, or what possessed the people who made it. All I know is the world needs to
I remember the night vividly. I was in Hartford, CT at a Dave show (last year) when I heard the rumors: Dave Matthews Band will be taking off from touring for a year, a year which also marks the bands 20th anniversary. I said to a good friend of mine who had traveled up to Hartford with me “I can’t wait to see what kind of spectacle they pull off in 2011.”
Not that I have to tell any Socialites or Divas this, but sex is awesome. What isn’t awesome however, is when the TV is on
My summer internships were great learning experiences – but they rarely contained the kind of action and adventure that these movie bosses brought to work. With the Fourth of July weekend almost upon us, we had to ask, “Which blockbuster movie character would you want to learn under?”
Electric Daisy Carnival took place last weekend at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and you can bet your ass The Campus Socialite was there to experience it. Needless to say, every moment of it was completely ridiculous. Don’t believe us? Check out this massive gallery of some of our best pics from the festival. Mad props to T. Wong for being our cameraman.
The whole Charlie Sheen craze died a little quicker than I think anyone could have imagined. One second, the dude was blowing lines, banging porn stars, and sticking it to mainstream media like a frickin boss. The next second, nobody cared. Well, it looks like someone missed the spotlight a little bit, for better or worse.
Michael Ian Black is a mainstay among the best comedians in America, though he has received very little mainstream fanfare throughout his career. His work on Stella and The State, I Love The (insert decade), and cult classic Wet Hot American Summer is some of the funniest stuff I’ve ever seen in my life.
Okay, so I realize that at first glance this movie looks totally lame, but I assure you that it’s going to be amazing. Steven Spielberg really hasn’t directed anything since Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, for good reason: that movie was awful. But this trailer looks epic.
