Once you’re done drinking beer and eating yourself into oblivion, it’s time for everyone’s favorite Independence Day past time: Blowing stuff up. Nothing completes a celebration like Fireworks, and 4th of July is the day to go crazy. They may be illegal up here in New York, but everyone’s got that uncle who drives South and fills his entire Chevy with M80s for everyone’s pyromania pleasure.

College students (the legal ones) have yet another location to get drunk. Burger King started the eat-our-stuff-and-get-drunk movement with their restaurant concept called Whopper Bars, which recently opened in Miami, Las Vegas and Kansas City. Now Sonic and Starbucks are jumping on the trend by offering customers Wine as well as Beer.
It’s national Hot Dog Month and, coincidentally, 4th of July weekend. Independence is nice and all, but we’re most excited for the large amounts of beer and burgers available for consumption. There’s no better way to celebrate Fourth of July than with fireworks, beer, and barbecues, and this infographic proves just that. See the full graphic after the jump.
I did it! I got my Legal Marijuana Club Card, and it amounted to just a normal, routine trip to the doctor’s office. Totally legit, yet totally sketch at the same time. Hear the full story, and a look inside a California Dispensary, right after the jump.
Throwback Thursday is back and we’re really digging deep into your childhood for this one. I’m sure you remember all three of the above-mentioned things, but we’re going to show you some old school videos anyway. Hopefully they make you wanna go out and get a pair of LA Lites and eat a Kid Cuisine while watching “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”
After a year on hiatus, Rothbury Festival is back with a new name and more ridiculous acts than ever. What used to be Rothbury is now Electric Forest, a 4 day music festival held in Michigan. So this is to any Michigan socialites out there: how are you celebrating your July 4th?
I remember the night vividly. I was in Hartford, CT at a Dave show (last year) when I heard the rumors: Dave Matthews Band will be taking off from touring for a year, a year which also marks the bands 20th anniversary. I said to a good friend of mine who had traveled up to Hartford with me “I can’t wait to see what kind of spectacle they pull off in 2011.”
My summer internships were great learning experiences – but they rarely contained the kind of action and adventure that these movie bosses brought to work. With the Fourth of July weekend almost upon us, we had to ask, “Which blockbuster movie character would you want to learn under?”
Electric Daisy Carnival took place last weekend at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and you can bet your ass The Campus Socialite was there to experience it. Needless to say, every moment of it was completely ridiculous. Don’t believe us? Check out this massive gallery of some of our best pics from the festival. Mad props to T. Wong for being our cameraman.
DOPE. There’s just something about flying sharks that gets me amped. Especially when they sail over people chillin’ in the water. Apparently this happens all the time, but the chances of catching it on video are slim to none. From what I hear, the shark wasn’t even aiming for the guy, he just wanted to catch some air. Hang ten, bro.
