The Competitive Eating League, or CCEL, has announced the first ever-collegiate national competitive eating competition, taking place at Cornerstone Grill & Loft in College Park, MD on April 16, 2011, starting at 6 p.m.

The University of Maryland is the first team to be university-recognized, and the CCEL is looking for other competitors.  All you need is ten friends representing your school, and you have a team for this year’s national championship!

To register, contact [email protected]. Ever dream of being glorified for crushing an entire box of donuts and then chest bumping your buddy next to you to celebrate? Well, dreams come true, even if they are associated with 10,000 calories.

The CCEL is the newest addition to college athletics, which was started in 2011 by Campus Socialite Media LLC.  It is the governing body for all university competitive eating clubs around the country, and is running the first ever-national competitive eating championship.
