In case you have been hiding in a hole or have been under the gun, studying your ass off for your upcoming mid-terms, you might have missed (no pun intended) the big spectacle surrounding a Bronx Zoo native. A 20 inch long, highly venomous Egyptian cobra allegedly went MIA this past Saturday, leaving New Yorkers, the media and all of the Bronx Zoo’s staff in a tizzy. Fortunately the cobra was found earlier today, but before being captured, the deadly snake who is capable of killing a full-grown elephant in three hours or even a person in about 15 minutes, managed to join twitter and gain the interest of over 200,000 followers. Not even Charlie Sheen could do this.
According to @Bronxzooscobra, the cobra was pretty busy over the past week, visiting numerous places including the statue of liberty and Metropolitan Museum of Art, and also having some fun with the best and worst innuendos in New York City. Following this feed for the past couple of days was definitely pretty entertaining, seeing as how it was trending every day on Twitter. Unfortunately, like all good things that come to an end, the snake’s last adventure before being recaptured was attending the Yankees’ opening game, where it stated that “If you see a bag of peanuts inexplicably moving along the ground at Yankee Stadium today. Just ignore it. It’s probably nothing.” Here is a list of some of the Cobra’s funniest tweets.
