The other day while doing some real important work (…checking Facebook, The Campus Socialite and Twitter…) I decided to go hangout at a friend’s place to catch up on my HBO shows. After months of avoiding it I finally decided to give Hung a chance and I didn’t hate it. Luckily for me there’s TiVo so I was able to watch the first season.
In case you have never seen the show, Thomas Jane plays a divorced father of two who turns to male prostitution to make a better life for him and his kids. Sounds noble right? And to make it better this isn’t your every day pimp and ho stroll, they made a business out of this guy’s …business.
Watching Hung got me to thinking… what if this wasn’t a struggling father of two, what if this was a struggling college student who had to pay his own tuition and all of life’s little necessities. That extra cash flow can do a lot for a college kid – it could pay for books, meals, and a weekend trip to Mexico.
This sounds promising because as we all know college can be expensive and those expenses don’t magically go away after graduation, so you know what they say ‘ give it the ol’ college try’.
Seriously though, if this wasn’t illegal I know plenty of guys who would jump at the chance to get paid to get laid. But I just can’t think of any girls who would pay for sex, maybe this says a lot for the type of girls I know. However, I can think of a few teachers who need a piece of happiness in their morning coffee.
Personally I don’t know if I have the balls (no pun intended of course) for this line of work I think I’m too much of a goody goody… I mean to each his own, whatever pays the bills, but if we really wanted to get technical I know a lot of girls who aspire to be the desperate housewives of tomorrow… and housewives they need Happiness Consultants… Time to get to work guys.
