Every year in early May, the horse racing season officially begins with the “Running of the Roses” at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. The first leg of the Triple Crown is always the most exciting as the sky is the limit for all of the horses involved. Anyone can become legend and have a chance at racing immortality. The Preakness and Belmont Stakes follow in the next few weeks and the tension builds with each race. This years clear favorite Uncle Mo scratched yesterday, leaving the race (and the potential run at racings first Triple Crown in decades) up in the air. The hats will be large, the Juleps will be minty and the race will be dramatic. After the jump, the up-to-the-minute odds and our choices for the Top 3 finishers.
