It’s All About Mark. Zuckerberg, that is. With the release of The Social Network comes a stuffload of other media coverage of the networking guru’s life. Possibly the strangest of which is a comic based on his life. What? You heard me, a comic book. Bluewater Productions presents “Mark Zuckerberg: Creator of Facebook.” The comic makes its way onto shelves in your local comic store this December. Whether Zuckerberg plays the villian or the hero, we’ll just have to wait and see. Any comic reader knows that the best heroes actually walk a fine line between good and evil, so maybe “Facebook-Man” is perfect for the part. But action is the main drawing point of a comic, and how much action could possibly be in a comic book about a nerdy college student who sat at his computer and made a website?
But that’s not all about the controversial Mark Zuckerberg. There’s an incredibly funny spoof on The Social Network and the real-life Mark Zuckerberg on Babelgum. It claims to be real version of the Facebook story, written, directed, produced, and edited by Mark Zuckerberg. The tagline? “You can’t make millions of friends, without making Facebook all by yourself.”
And finally for something not Zuckerberg related: A new site called GameCrush just launched. It allows lonely, indoor-types (“Players”) to chat and play video games with hot girls (“PlayDates”). Of course nothing comes free, so users have to pay 60 cents a minute for their one-on-one time. Add that up, and it means that each PlayDate is making about $20 an hour. That’s more than twice what I make serving people pastrami sandwiches, and they just have to play video games all day. Well…that’s not all, because there’s a point system that promotes the tipping of PlayDates, and the girls are willing to “open up” more in order to get better tips. That’s pretty legit. So for all of you guys cramped up in your dorm rooms looking for the perfect girl, she’s online, and only costs $20 + gratuities every hour.
