You probably never heard of Falcon Motorsports before, and I don’t blame you – up until now the company has dealt solely in building body panels, hardtops and structural components for the Dodge Viper and the Plymouth Prowler. But they decided to take a whack at designing an exotic sports car, and the result is this: the F7.
Falcon applied its expertise in components-building to design the F7′s aluminum monocoque chassis and carbon fiber body. Thanks to the use of these lightweight materials, the car tips the scales at just 2,785 pounds. The F7 is powered by a Corvette-sourced V8 engine that puts out 620 horsepower and 585 lb-ft of torque, enough to propel the car from zero to 60 in approximately 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 195 miles per hour.
The first Falcon F7s will be delivered at the end of 2012 and will carry a base price of about $225,000. Not bad.
