The times they are a-changing. Rumors are circulating that the 5th season of Jersey Shore is going to be the last one starring the Guidos that we all grew to know and love over the past 2 years. Wait…5 seasons in 2 years? Yep, MTV really is squeezing as much out of this cash cow as they possibly can.
I’d like to take a minute to point something else out: It took all of five minutes after stepping off the plane from Italy for MTV to get the cast back to the shore to shoot this final season.
Regardless of that, it’s important to note that the gang is apparently locked in the house until shooting begins, in order to maintain the chemistry that has made the show such a hit across the world.
So what’s going to happen after the end Jersey Shore season 5? Well, I can tell you that it’s definitely not going to end there, because there’s lots of money riding on season 6. MTV will recast the show and hope that these new Guidos have similar chemistry to their original batch of winners. It won’t be the last time you see your favorite spray-tanned, gym-loving reality TV stars, either. The Situation, Pauly D, Snooki, and JWOWW are all getting spin-offs. I almost feel bad for the other four who aren’t being recycled in the MTV world…almost.
