Socialite Approved Releases (August 1st – August 5th, 2011)

Movies: Change-Up

change-up

The movie about two dudes, one who lives life like a Socialite, and one who’s married with kids, switch places. This movie could definitely go either way, but i’m interested to see two actors who play the same part in every movie, try to play each other. Ryan Reynolds is the usual sarcastic, too cool, player and Jason Bateman is the usual complete square, but in this movie, the two will attempt to play each-other’s usual type cast. Plus, from the looks of it Ryan Reynolds (inhabited by Jason Bateman and by himself) looks like hes getting with a ton of hot chicks. That’s Socialite enough for me.

Movies: Rise of The Planet of The Apes

rise of the planet of the apes

At this point, I’m willing to see anything with James Franco in it. Planet of the Apes is one of those movies that are a piece of Americana. The idea of being on a foreign planet, inhabited solely by Apes, and then finding out it was Earth all along! Genius! In the newest installment we find out how our beloved Earth came to be inhabited by Apes to begin with. Looks like the normal hostile take-over story. Dumb creature somehow gets smarter, still stronger than humans, destroys humans. But with the growing advancements in CGI technology, I have full faith that Planet of The Apes will be taken to a whole new level. Did I mention James Franco? What a dude.

Video Games: Max Payne 3

max payne 3

It’s been a long time since anybody’s heard the name Max Payne, but for all us old school gamers it still resonates. Max Payne is the story of a cop who comes home to find his wife and newborn baby murdered. Subsequently, he goes on a killing rampage, single-handedly taking down all directly and in-directly responsible for the murders. Max Payne introduced slow motion shooting too, which has been re-packaged and copied a million times since. Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne wasn’t as great as the 1st one, but if you’re a shooter fan, Max Payne 3 is totally worth a look. Ignore: the movie version with Mark Whalberg.
