Movies: Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows (12/16/2011)
A couple of years back, Robert Downey Jr. took master detective Sherlock Holmes, a concept you were vaguely familiar with, and brought it to a new generation. Downey Jr.’s Sherlock Holmes was super intelligent, disturbingly eccentric, a fierce talent in the world of slow motion bare-knuckle boxing, and morally disinterested. Everything we love in a post-millennial hero. Holmes killed it in #1, and from what I’ve seen in previews for #2, A Game Of Shadows, it looks like this one might be in contention for an extremely rare accomplishment: a sequel that’s better than it’s prequel (Star Wars doesn’t count). If you’re one of the few that hasn’t seen the original Downey Jr. Sherlock Holmes, you might wanna play some catch-up. Because the rest of us are oozing with anticipation.
Music: Nero – Welcome Reality (12/13/2011)
I feel weird talking about this album, considering the fact that I’ve had it for over a month. None the less, the official release date of Welcome Reality, the new album fron Dub Step mastermind Nero is tomorrow. It’s pretty fantastic, I know from personal experience. Key tracks “Promises” and “Me And You” have been bumping in the TCS office daily. Sick hooks, piercing vocals, and dirty, dirty Dub Step beats. If you saw that amazing commercial for Beats By Dre Colors on our site a couple of weeks ago, then congratulations, you’ve already heard “Me And You” and are a music pioneer. Check out “Promises” above, and tell me you don’t need this album today.
