Too legit to quit is right. We should have stopped hearing the name MC Hammer years ago yet he continues to make the news every so often for reasons that grow more and more ridiculous with time. The story this week is either a genius PR stunt or the ravings of a washed up lunatic. Mr. Hammer is launching his own Search Engine which he hopes will compete with Google and Bing.

It’s no secret that Rick Ross has been having medical issues, but push has come to shove recently as he has officially cancelled his show at Georgia State University. Rick had two seizures last week while en route to several Southeast locations and he informed Georgia that he will be unable to do the show. Damn, Rick. Hope everything turns out ok.
The sleek black with red trim look is perfect for head-bobbing to some Lil Wayne, strolling through the dorms or sitting and reading The Campus Socialite. But the next logical step, after targeting the Rap crowd, is targeting the Hipster crowd. Retro is in and today Beats By Dre released 6 new Hipsterific colors. You might wanna ask Starbucks for a raise.
Esquire Magazine, a lesser GQ in my opinion picks a girl every year who they deem to be The Sexiest Woman Alive. This year is everyone’s favorite S&M Freak, Rihanna. Rihanna exploded on the scene with “Umbrella” just a few years ago but she has taken over the airwaves, on her songs, on other’s songs, and propelled herself past Lady Gaga as music’s Top Bitch. Plus, she’s super frickin hot.
Biggie, Jay-Z, Mos Def and now D. Chamberz, Brooklyn’s newest Rapper is rising up the charts. Chamberz’s much anticipated and brand new video for “Only One” will finally be released this Wednesday at a release party being thrown by Chamberz and crew. The video features Pure and is directed by Mills Miller and the premiere will go down at La Pomme in NYC.
Everyone’s favorite guilty pleasure was missing one element to make it truly socially acceptable: a rap track. Mac Miller did what we were all hoping someone would do, which is make “Moves Like Jagger” actually cool and not just disturbingly catchy. Needless to say, it’s pretty frickin sick. Check out the track after the jump.
The phrase “Legends Never Die” gets thrown around a lot (Thank You Sandlot) but its never been truer for someone than Tupac Shakur. If you thought that releasing #1 ranked tracks after you were dead was an impressive feat, how bout a sex tape. And he’s not even pissed about it! Ok, maybe that was insensitive, but if the details I heard are true, Tupac has once again shown us how a True Gangsta does it. More after the jump.
The 15 year anniversary of Tupac Shakur’s death passed last week. We brought you one of the coolest tribute videos I’ve ever seen, but in retrospect, I’m really wishing we had this one. It features possibly the two greatest rappers of all time, two rappers that would ultimately (and allegedly) be the cause for each other’s deaths, sitting at a table, sipping drinks and laying down the best freestyle you’ll ever see.
This young rapper might be raking in the cash by the time he’s 9 years old. His name is Matty B, he’s 8 years old and has already begun producing videos and making a name for himself through his site MattyBRaps.com. Check out some of the videos from this Socialite in the making, MATTY B.
Who in there right mind would group these musicians together if they know a solitary iota about music. Always playing the perfect tunes for any situation. Get pumped for the gym, walk to class, drive your car, have sex, get high or set up a solid pre-game, setting the proper mood with the perfect mix of situational tracks is an absolute must.
