Is it just me or does the semester seem like it has been dragging on FOREVER. Sure, I have had fun enjoying my senior year, but I have also been overwhelmed by school work. I have actually been counting down the days for Thanksgiving since before Halloween. And it is FINALLY here. a seven day break from all things related to school work and a time where I can just sit back and relax.
Despite the break from school, Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday because its a day where all you do is watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, cheer during a football game, eat turkey and sleep (Does that not sound like the most relaxing day). On top of all of that, it kicks off the holiday season. Now that I am in college, I take my Thanksgiving break as a time to tell my family what I want for the holidays this year. Since I am not home until just before Christmas, this is the perfect time to discuss holiday presents.
My list this year:
1) A new Laptop.
I got a Macbook after I graduated from high school, but it is time for a change. The number one complaint I have about my mac is that the speakers aren’t loud enough, so this time I am going to pick a laptop with better sound quality. After doing some research, I decided to go with a HP’s new Envy 14 because it has Dr. Dre’s Beats Audio software, giving it excellent sound quality. Plus, HP gives students discounts (Check it out) on the computers and since this is the last year I can get a student discount, I figure its the best time to ask my parents for it.
2) Blackberry Torch.
One thing every Blackberry user knows is once you go blackberry, you never go back. My berry is permanently attached to my hand and I would not have it any other way. As much as I love it though, my Blackberry Curve just isn’t cutting it anymore. I think its time to upgrade to the new Blackberry Torch with a touch screen, its literally everything I want in a phone and I am begging my parents to upgrade my phone early for it!
3) Clothes.
I’m a girl and I love wearing new clothes that keep up with the latest styles.
Usually I either do not have the time to go shopping or I just don’t have enough money to get the exact outfit I want. However, during the holidays I get the latest styles and I do not have to pay for them (I love gifts).
4) Four Loko not getting rid of the caffeine.
Yes this one is a bit more than Santa can deliver, but come on everyone wants this! The great thing about Fourloko is the unbelievable alert feeling you get when you drink it. I guess I can see where the government is coming from, but the caffeine is like the best part!
Granted most of the time I end up not liking more than half of my gifts each year, but that is okay because I can always exchange them for something I like the day after Christmas. By this day all of the things I got are on sale, so I can get even more things for the same price.
