The Master and the Apprentice: Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy

info@thecampussocialite.com

We here at The Campus Socialite are suckers for good stand-up comedy. I can’t tell you how many hours we spend watching clips of classic acts when we should be brainstorming article ideas to better our readers – but who are we kidding, at the end of the day you are just like us: a bunch of degenerates craving content rife with sex, drugs, booze, and all other sorts of shenanigans. There are plenty of great comedians that have left their mark on our generation’s funny bone, however if you asked the majority of today’s great funnymen (and women) they would have the following two legends on their short list of influences: Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy. Pryor is the Godfather of comedy and was immortalized through … Is It Something I Said? and Live on the Sunset Strip and , while Eddie took a page out of Richard’s book and made his bones with the outlandish acts Raw and Delirious. I figured you could all use a laugh as we usher in the first weekend of the summer, so I have included two of my favorite clips from Pryor and Murphy below. Please keep in mind that these videos are NSFW and are particularly offensive to… well most people. Enjoy.

Richard Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip (1982)

Eddie Murphy: Raw (1987)

Keep laughing straight through the weekend socialites!
